Commander Pete Mecca, Deputy Commander Jack Coyle and newly appointed ROBO-CALL Coordinator Bill LeCount will now be asking for the cooperation of all Round Table Members and Guests to provide advance notification whether they will be attending a monthly meeting. Members and Guests who have provided their contact phone numbers will be reminded each month about the time and date of the monthly meetings. Those called can respond while the message is being announced. Alternatively, those called / notified can also email or call Commander Mecca at: email@example.com - Tel. 770-354-9697; Deputy Commander Coyle at: firstname.lastname@example.org - Tel. 770-788-2454; or ROBO-CALL Coordinator Bill LeCount at: email@example.com - Tel. 404-886-7383. It is imperative that the Round Table provide the Church with an accurate head-count at each meeting so there are enough meals and desserts ( meals and desserts are made from-scratch on the day of the meeting ). Please Note: The Reservation / Head-Count is now mandatory. If you do not reserve a meal, and the Church is deficient in providing you a meal, you will be refunded your $ 20.00 payment ( or $ 35.00 per Couple ) by Finance Officer Jay Lenny.
The Atlanta WW II Round Table is fortunate to be able to have the Dunwoody United Methodist Church as our meeting facility again for 2018. For those new to the Round Table, we made a major change in January 2017, after 13 years at the Petite Auberge Restaurant in the Toco Hills Shopping on N. Druid Hills Rd. in Atlanta after they abruptly announced they were down-sizing and moving on December 31st, 2016. The decision was made to move our meeting venue to The Dunwoody United Methodist Church at 1548 Mount Vernon Road in Dunwoody, GA 30338.
This sudden move created some chaos for both the Round Table and the Dunwoody UMC. The Round Table is blessed that the Church’s Facilities Manager and Events Coordinator, Debbie Collins, was able to quickly make adjustments to the Church’s meeting dates and social calendar to accommodate our Organization. In 2018 we are on a more solid footing with the Church and they are able to accommodate us on the third (3rd) Thursday of each of our meeting months, January through June. Ms. Collins has pledged to do her utmost to accommodate us for this same monthly meeting date from September through December. Any change in these dates will be announced via email, in our upcoming Newsletters, or via ROBOCALL.
This facility has the six (6) requirements the Round Table needs. AMPLE and FREE parking; A CONVENIENT LOCATION to the majority of our membership; The facility is SENIOR-FRIENDLY and HANDICAP-ACCESSIBLE + there is an ELEVATOR in the building to access the 2nd floor; AMPLE MEETING SPACE within the meeting room to accommodate 350-500 members and guests; FOOD QUALITY and service which is excellent + the MEAL COST to the members and guests can remain at
$20.00 for individuals + we now can extend a price of $ 35.00 for couples; The AUDIO/VISUAL/SOUND EQUIPMENT is high-quality and state-of-the-art.
Our Meeting Start-Time has been established as follows: Social Half-Hour: 10:45 AM – 11:15 AM > BUFFET LINE OPENS AT 11:15 AM – MEETING START TIME 11:45 AM – 12:00 NOON for all meetings.
The February 2018 Banquet will also be on Thursday in February the 15th. This will be our only scheduled meeting in February 2018 and will replace our regular meeting.
