Bio

I am the author of The Devils Will Get No Rest: FDR, Churchill, and the Plan that won the War, published in June 2023 by Simon and Schuster, the only book length treatment of the Casablanca Conference of January 1943, where FDR, Churchill, and their combined high command met in an active war zone to plan the Anglo-American offensive strategy at the turning point of the war.

Presentation: "The Devils Will Get No Rest: FDR, Churchill, and the Plan That Won the War"

At the Casablanca Conference of January 1943, FDR, Churchill, General Charles de Gaulle, General George C. Marshall, Admiral Ernest J. King, General George S. Patten, Jr., General Sir Alan Brooke, Admiral Lord Louis Mountbatten and many of their military peers met for ten days in Casablanca, which the Luftwaffe had bombed two weeks earlier. In a no holds barred ten day debate they overcame deep military, cultural, and political differences to forge a winning strategy for the European and Pacific theaters. Accompanied by a riveting slide presentation, Conroy tells the story of how they did it.
